Global Finance Brand – National Executive Search

Business Challenge
Our client, part of a global group of companies, not unlike other organisations in their field, had experienced major difficulties attracting the level of quality staff into their company with senior roles remaining unfilled for over 6 months. A major contributor had been as a result of increased employment opportunities for candidates resulting in a national shortage of quality staff, irrespective of the organisation’s well-established and respected brand in the marketplace. In order to grow their business nationally in line with their strategic plan, we were provided with a mandate to source 3 Associate Directors for their national operations.

Solution
Press advertising had not been successful for our client. A recruitment strategy was agreed to, the key focus of which was to undertake a national executive search process. Following a detailed client briefing, a strong brand focused marketing document was developed and research was undertaken which included identifying individuals who would most aligned to the client’s brand and likely respond to a career move due to the role they were employed in.

This targeted recruitment process successfully widened the pool of candidate available for selection by the client and in speaking to each candidate on an individual basis, provided the opportunity to discuss the key benefits of the positions, the organisation and their brand. Candidates not interested were in a position to recommend others and provide a referral.

What this process has demonstrated is that candidates were no longer typically applying to advertisements for all roles, but were networking to identify their next career move. Needless to say that only experienced Consultants in this field are aware of the subtleties of the executive search process and how to manage this communication. We were able to add value by applying other strategies outside of standard recruitment methodologies to assist clients with difficult to fill roles across more than one State, managing the recruitment activity from a central base in WA.

Outcome
We fulfilled the requirements of the brief and the result was the identification and successful recruitment of four Associate Directors in total to be based in Melbourne and Sydney. This recruitment has the capacity to significantly enhance their business operations and deliver their strategic plan.
